Svend, Hans, and Arne Opstad
As I wish you a merry Christmas 1930 I wish you (plural) welcome home next fall and a happy new year 1931. The school house called "Brendablik" where you took confirmation preparation the summer 1920. The picture on the front shows teacher Hansen from Haugesund with the group of "youth school" (jr high - high schoolers) 40-50 students. November 28 1930 Best greetings from home.
Who posts this picture of Arne born in 1908 from Varhaug Norway, lived in Kipp and then Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. Not all these letters are to Norway, some are to Arne in Canada
ReplyDeleteArne was my grandfather's brother. My mother has many letters, written in Norwegian between her father Svend Opstad and his family. Being unable to read the language, I assumed they were from his family still in Norway.
